Filmmaker Garret Martin spent nine months in 2023 documenting the life of Joe Hollis, a self-sufficient mountain man who has lived off the grid for fifty years. Paradise follows his efforts to cultivate a “paradise garden” with over a thousand plant species, some found nowhere else in the country. As health concerns emerge, Joe faces the challenge of securing his land and legacy for the future.
